About Who Broke Up the Family
A normal city. A normal family. And one very cold hearth. A completely burned-out wife and mother, and her farewell letter, which no one is willing to believe. Many clues, but each one only further complicates the case. Years ago, they vowed 'until death do us part,' so does this mean the wife is dead? And if so, who will prepare the Sunday lunch? A white, heterosexual, aging detective must solve his last case: Who broke up the traditional family?!
A perfectly ordinary detective comedy with characters and dialogue tailored specifically for the company finally returns to the stage of the Goose on a String Theatre (if it has ever been here at all). Who actually determines what is normal? Isn't it just one of the settings on a dryer? As a society, we like to think of ourselves as fair. How tolerant of difference are we really, and why can we only envision one form of marriage? Warning! If someone's homosexuality threatens your traditional family, you're probably a faggot.
Tereza Volánková (1988) is a graduate of KALD DAMU in Jiří Havelka's class, where during her studies she necessarily had to meet authorship and direction. Through the generational authors' ensemble 11:55, hosting at the Drama Studio in Ústí nad Labem, and directing various projects, she returned as an actress to the Goose on a String Theatre, which was her initial impetus to pursue theatre. She returns to the role of author and director at the Goose on a String Theatre after having created the successful production I Have Just Baked (2023) together with Marie Klemensová.
